Life In The D

Long train rides make me reflective. Here are some of today's reflections:

Let's pretend we're strangers. We can make eyes at each other from a crowded train. We can slip each other our numbers at a murky downtown bar. We can run through the fountains of esteemed places barefoot and laughing just like a true Bollywood ending. We could be a Bollywood love story.

I sit across from a woman whose face is painted as elaboratly as a Barnum and Bailey's star. Most people gawk and laugh at her appearance. I see her and a cloud of sadness and pity rush over me. She bears no wedding band or any other mark of a lover. Her wallet is filled with coupons of distraction rather than photos of happy times. The look in her eyes makes me think there were no better times, just times. I want to hug her and assure her there are better days to come. Selfishly, I want her to hug me and tell me that this, her life, would never be my fate.

Today's Inspirations: You, Me, Bollywood, The Opera La Traviata, Moulin Rouge, Brandon Benson's Life In The D and Reunion by Stars

It is sad to watch people as passerbys when you just want to give them a hug. And the worst part of that is, if you actually gave a hug to some of the people you feel compassion towards, they will most likely look at you like, your the crazy one for giving a stranger a hug. Also, it's great to realize as much as you may complain about something, someone may have it worse. And just to realize you have the ability to feel compassion. Because not everyone can even do that nowadays.

Lila, I think I will forever be known as the girl with the permanent scowl on my face. I smiled one too many times on the train and I've learned that perverts target the smiley faced ladies.
I'm the queen of phonetics, so I'm with you on the homonymn thing. Spelling should be just a suggestion. Shakespeare made up spellings, why can't we!

LaLaLalyssa- If it doesn't exist, we should start a national hug day. The priority people will be the weak and downtrodden. After we hug them we will slip in a Bible Teach book and get them to study with us. Plan?

Rubby, my life seems to be one big paraphrased moment. As long as you get the point across, that's all that matters! I'm horrible with quotes myself.
