Growth

When little kids look up, they see gods hovering over them. Parents are big, they make things appear and disappear, and they know just about everything, which is one reason kids keep secrets and tell lies- they need to claim a little power of themselves. Eventually, they grow. With this physical growth comes mental growth. The children realize their parents are not mythological Greek gods but merely humans struggling to do what's right. This sudden spurt of thought creates confusion in a child's mind and with a lack of maturity comes the false heir of superiority and knowledge. The child takes on the delusion of godliness themselves. They believe they know everything and can do anything.

What is it with humans and this infinite wisdom complex?

Some people just never get past being a teenager. If they would actually grow up they would get past the confusion.
