Each year my family and I have a procession that trails up the coast to the Outer Banks. There we eat, drink and be merry in the most unsinful of fashions. Tomorrow we depart and I couldn't be more delighted to leave this chaos, even if it is for seven days. Reading, writing and much reflection will be abundant. I hope to have much to share when I return. Til then...

Sue, in a few years when I'm off living in the desserts of Iraq, you and Joe are building a sand castle out of grass and Nola is popping out her 4th child we should all head out to NC. I believe this time will be less fighting and more drinking.
